🌺 Cook Islands Dance Classes – Saturdays at Sparks Studio, Blacktown
Join us every Saturday morning for beginner-friendly Cook Islands dance classes for girls and ladies! Runs weekly until Saturday, 27 September.

📍 Location: 2A Bessemer St, Blacktown - Sparks Studio
Tamariki Tamaine (Girls, Ages 12 and under) : 9:15 AM – 9:45 AM
A 30-minute session introducing the basics of Cook Islands dance aswell as a slow introduction to simple Cook Island words/phrases – perfect for young learners.
Vaine (Teen/Adult Ladies, Ages 13+) : 9:55 AM – 10:55 AM
A 60-minute class exploring foundational steps, kapa rima (action song), energetic drum beats, and short routines.Classes alternate weekly between slow and fast beat styles and the first 2 weeks will be dedicated to learning the basics of ura.
The dance style that will be taught originates from the southern part of the Cook Islands.
💰 Pricing
- Ladies (60 min): $15–$18 per session
- Girls (12 and under, 30 min): $5–$7 per session
- Accompanying Adult: FREE (1 per paying child)

👥 Important Note
Due to limited space:
- Parents who wish to stay and watch their child’s session (Tamariki Tamaine) must book a spot in advance (1 per paying child)
- During our Vaine session, only those who are dancing are allowed in the studio. Young children of students booked into our Vaine session are welcome to sit in.
- Studio is located on Level 1 (stairs access only) and seating is limited
