For several years, Manny Lopes and David Vliet convened a group of Black and Brown leaders within the health center movement under the logo of "Conversations: Leadership Diversity" and they hosted hundreds of us for great food, conversation, affirmation and inspiration. With all the attacks on DEIB, the financial challenges facing health centers, the political divisions and threats to our patients and communities, we need each other now more than ever. In Chicago, we will reconnect, recharge and strengthen this community within a movement. This will also be an opportunity to revisit and celebrate our history, as the very first health center was born 60 years ago (1965) in Columbia Point in Boston, born out of the Civil Rights Movement.
