Contemporary Graffiti 101 Course -Class #3

Have you ever seen incredible graffiti art and wished you could create a masterpiece in that style? Well this is your chance!

Project Human X is putting on our very first long-form Art Course! Super talented, contemporary graffiti artist, Mark Jimenez, who is completing a masters in art at SIU, will be joining us to teach this 3 part class.

The course spans 3 consecutive Sundays, for 2 hours each. September 21st, 28th, and October 5th, from 6-8pm.

This course will be taught in 3 parts

1st Session, Sept. 21st:

Fundamental graffiti concepts
Sketching & Can control

During this first workshop we will explore the rich culture and key concepts behind graffiti art, as well as how to plan out and sketch a design, hold spray paint cans, and use them to maximize coverage.

2nd session, Sept. 28th:
Learning graffiti styles
Lettering & form

Next session we will explore the wide range of graffiti styles, font work, composition, and practive overall design skills.

3rd session, Oct. 5th:
Underground graffiti experience
Color, contrast & originality

For the final day of this course we will put all the skills we have been building to practice! We will go on an adventure to create graffiti art and make our mark, celebrating our creativity and the work put in over the past 3 weeks.
