Join a beginners session to learn how to keep your container plants healthy. Master Gardeners will demonstrate tree pruning in the container garden.
What You’ll Learn:
- Why to transplant your container plant
- Container tree care: potting media, amendments, fertilizers, etc.
- When and how to prune your container trees: crown cleaning and reduction
Maintaining a healthy rootstock plant is essential for developing desirable grafted trees. We encourage you to join this session so that you can practice grafting techniques at a later session.
UGC Guidelines:
- Parents/guardians must provide supervision of minors during the event to ensure their safety and security.
- All participants will be asked to sign a UH consent waiver form.
- Bring drinking water to stay hydrated.
- Wear appropriate outdoor attire: shoes and sun protection.
- Only guide dogs are allowed at UGC. No pets allowed.
- The back gardens are closed to self-tours.
