Constellations: An Atlas of the Night
Overview
The Night is not only a time of storytelling, but a story that is told, a myth as much as a backdrop for myth-making. The many and contradictory ways we know and imagine the Night reveals the assumptions we carry about time and order, labour and leisure, visibility and invisibility, safety and danger, death and rebirth.
The Night is not only a temporal fact, but a space saturated with meaning and myth, a realm casting its shadow over half the Earth at any moment, yet omnipresent in how we make sense of the world and our place in it.
Through a constellation of writing and visuals, the cohort traces the Night’s contours to illuminate the possibilities held in its darkness.
This event will gather friends for an evening of readings and discussions.
