Join Allegheny County Conservation District (ACCD) at Round Hill Demonstration Farm for a special field day focused on soil and water conservation efforts in Allegheny County. Learn how multiple programs, funding sources, and county support are working together to strengthen farmland and restore ecological health.
This visit will provide an opportunity to see firsthand:
- Best Management Practices: Explore how the farm is improving water and soil health through pond rehabilitation, spring development, buffer plantings, and nutrient management practices.
- Act 38 Nutrient Management: Learn about the farm’s voluntary participation in nutrient management, a demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship.
Two Nutrient Management Continuing Education Credits are available.
EVENT DETAILS:
- What: Tour of conservation projects, plus an optional farm tour with a Park Ranger
- Where: Round Hill Demonstration Farm, 651 Round Hill Rd, Elizabeth, PA 15037
- When: October 23, 2025, from 10 AM – 12 PM. The Ranger tour begins at 12:30 PM.
- Light refreshments will be provided.
Accessibility Notice: Restrooms are available. The tour will include uneven terrain. Participants will be expected to stand and walk with limited seating opportunities.
