Event description

Description

Friday, October 4 (8:30-3:30)

Join UBC students and faculty to discuss what secondary students need to know to be successful in the post-secondary environment. By making connections between inquiry-based learning in the K-12 context and information literacy in the post-secondary environment, attendees will explore opportunities for educators to support student transition between K-12 and higher education.

A panel of undergraduate students and UBC teaching faculty will highlight skills and strategies for success at the post-secondary level. K-12 educators will be invited to share the strengths they see in elementary and secondary students. UBC Faculty, students, and attendees will collaboratively engage in interactive learning activities that will enhance our collective understandings of the competencies and dispositions required to support inquiry learning at the undergraduate level. Lunch and light refreshments provided.

Free to attend. Limited funds are available for classroom teacher release on Friday, October 4.

Registration is limited. RSVP early to reserve your spot!
