CONNECTION LOST EXHIBIT & PANEL EVENT: Saturday, August 26, 1:30 PM, in the Cellblock gallery.

Everyone is invited to a special event featuring presentations by two formerly incarcerated writers, Troy Williams and Watani Stiner, and some of their now-adult children. The event will be in the gallery, which features new artwork by current and former San Quentin artists- CONNECTION LOST: Families Unraveled by Prison- Artwork from San Quentin with Photos by Peter Merts and Writing from Brothers-in-Pen.

Troy Williams is the new editor of the Bay View newspaper, a cinematographer and activist and restorative justice leader in Oakland. Watani Stiner is writing his soon-to-be-published memoir and is another Oakland restorative justice leader. Watani’s son Larry Stiner is a poet and Torri L. Williams is a recent college graduate, each living and working in Los Angeles.

Donations to William James Association to support exhibits and events like this will be deeply appreciated. We will meet by 12:30 to check in at Pier 33 for the 1 PM boat.
