Connecting in Grief & Building Hope
Overview
Connecting in Grief & Building Hope is a gentle, restorative retreat for anyone living with bereavement, offering a day of togetherness, reflection, and compassionate support. Rooted in the power of shared experience, this retreat brings people together to feel understood, to honour their grief, and to rediscover moments of hope.
Throughout the day, participants will hear from guest speakers with lived experience, sharing honest and heartfelt insights into their own journeys with loss. Their stories offer comfort, connection, and the reassurance that none of us walk this path alone.
The retreat also includes guided workshops designed to help us pause, reflect, and remember — creating safe spaces for expression, quiet moments, and gentle exploration of how grief and joy can coexist without guilt.
To enrich the atmosphere, local artists will share live music, providing moments of calm and beauty that support emotional grounding and reflection.
A special highlight of the day will be a light lunch prepared by a young, talented chef from the award-winning Ardtara Country House in Northern Ireland. Crafted with locally sourced, natural ingredients, the meal is designed to warm the heart and nourish the soul — a comforting reminder of how food, community, and care intertwine. This shared meal offers another gentle moment to connect with others, settle into the space, and feel held in kindness.
This retreat is an invitation to breathe, to feel supported, and to gently begin building hope again.
