Connecting Gaia Reception
Overview
It has now been nearly half a century since James Lovelock first put forward his famous hypothesis that all the living and non-living systems on our beautiful blue planet are the combined gut of a singular organism: Gaia.
This exhibit is the culmination of many projects trying to get a good look at Gaia and to connect the different parts of Gaia. Part bioart, part science, part sculpture, and many parts speculation - I'm excited to share what I've made with you all. If we're all a part of Gaia - maybe sparking one another's curiosity is like sparking neurons to pass along a signal. Or maybe it's pure navel gazing and we're all the belly button lint. Either way there will be snacks and drinks and live performance.
A special shoutout to all of the friends who have helped put this together with me: Piper, Nora, Charlotte, Nha, Anne, Anvita, Ceili, Simon, Ewa, Grace, Connor, Morgan, Aastha, Dan, Gailin, Linda, Fia, Haley, and of course Sarah - thank you all!
