How can Programs engage families to participate in them?

How can a Program enhance its outreach?

What are the components of an effective outreach plan?

Outreach to and engagement of families is essential for any Family Support and Strengthening Program, as our Programs are only effective if they are well-utilized. This National Family Support Network training will explore outreach and planning strategies to maximize a Program’s effectiveness with connecting with potential participants. The training is co-trained by both a NFSN Staff person and an experienced National Parent Leader who have successfully developed and implemented outreach plans.

Recommended participants:

Management and Direct Service staff. Key leadership of the Program (Executive Directors, Directors, Managers) should participate in order to implement the content effectively. Teams are highly encouraged.

Participants will:

  • Understand outreach within the context of overall effective engagement of families
  • Explore how to enhance outreach strategies
  • Develop an outreach plan
