Event description
Ever notice an issue within your digital app or product but were unable to articulate why it was an issue? If yes, this is for you!

About this Event

Have you ever noticed an issue with your digital product or service, but were unable to articulate why it was an issue? Have you ever wanted to analyze your interface for issues, but were unsure of where to start?

If so, then this workshop is for you!

In this session, you'll learn the techniques to discover, articulate, and finally prioritize usability issues in your digital product or service. These techniques – which have been popularized by Don Norman, are a quick, low-cost way to align your team on critical issues in your user experience and why they matter.

WHAT TOPICS WILL THIS WORKSHOP COVER?

Specifically, this workshop will consist of 4 parts:

  1. Learn about Usability Principles.
  2. Study the 10 steps in Jakob Nielsen’s Heuristic Evaluation.
  3. Evaluate an interface and articulate its issues.
  4. Rate and prioritize the issues.

This workshop is interactive, emphasizing the immediate application of concepts. To participate in the group activity, you will need to bring a laptop.

~ David Harris

"It was great how you guys interacted with each of the groups, provided insight and ideas as we went through the challenges, and made concepts that sound kind of dry or dull in books intuitive and practical."

~Josh Stanley, Product Manager, Trials.io

"I learned new concepts that I can immediately apply with my team"

~Allison Spalding, eCommerce Strategist, BVAccel

"I understand and feel confident in bringing what I learned into my own workflow. It was a great workshop: half-day made it easy to attend, and the price was affordable (first time I've ever said that about a workshop)."
