What if addiction were a call? An opportunity? An open doorway through which we could pass into a deeper and more participatory version of our lives?

From screens to substances to work to sex, there is no shortage of opportunities to tune out of that which troubles us, into a world of temporary ease and distraction. For many of us, the very things that help us avoid pain become problems of their own. This is the basic cycle of addiction, and it is pervasive in the world today.

Join us in community as we combine physical practice with prompt-based discussion and connection around the central questions of addiction and recovery, with a focus on its social and spiritual dimensions.

No prior experience necessary. All bodies and levels are welcome.*

Concentric Recovery meetings are for people of all ages who:

  • Experience mild to moderate addiction(s)* (This program is not a great fit for those experiencing severe addiction**)
  • Are affected by addiction in the life of someone close to them
  • Are willing to learn more about addiction and recovery
  • Are willing to explore new tools and methods for moving through the negative effects of addiction
  • Are curious about the social and spiritual dimensions of addiction

*Addiction is a chronic condition characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli (such as substances or behaviors) despite adverse consequences.

**Severe addiction is characterized by continuing behavior despite serious physical, psychological, social, and/or legal repercussions.

Meet Your Facilitator: Davis Cowles

Davis is the Program Lead and head facilitator for Concentric Recovery. He teaches yoga and breathwork for people in recovery, and is walking through the doorway of addiction himself.

Davis is a breath coach, yoga teacher, and men’s work facilitator who walks the path of healing with both personal reverence and professional commitment. He is the founder of Moon & Back, a community-centric offering rooted in the belief that living well is a shared endeavor—one we arrive at through authentic embodiment and connection to the natural world.

Davis’s journey into nervous system health and somatic work is shaped by a lifetime of proximity to addiction and recovery, both in his family and his own experience. That history led him to the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model, where he trained in trauma-informed care specifically for addiction, and to a wider synthesis of modalities that support sustainable transformation. His work integrates yoga, breathwork, and nervous system education—not just as techniques, but as invitations to come home to ourselves.

Before coaching, Davis worked in science, education, and outdoor leadership. He holds a degree in Coastal Environmental Science with a minor in Spanish from Louisiana State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Ogden Honors College. His early professional years included teaching high school biology and Spanish, guiding wilderness trips, and facilitating experiential education. A profound curiosity has always guided his path—across ecosystems, languages, and inner landscapes.

Today, Davis supports individuals and groups through coaching, breathwork, and somatic practice. He creates spaces where people can gather sincerely, honor their stories, and return to the Earth that holds us all.
