This fall we're celebrating Tompkins Square Park by hosting open hours for stewardship volunteering! We will also be distributing free compost to the local community during this time. Volunteers can assist with deliveries and are also welcome to take home compost!
We'll be maintaining and caring for Tompkins Square Park planting beds, which includes weeding, watering, spreading mulch/ compost and de-littering the green spaces. During this event, we will also need help transporting wheelbarrows of compost to local community gardens. Please come prepared to work outside for the duration of your volunteer period.
Meet up location: In Tompkins Square Park, Park Building in front of the flagpole at 10am *look for LES Ecology Center banner * (9th Street between Avenue A and B).
