Community Service Event: Santa's Workshop - Texas Exes Houston
Overview
Join the Texas Exes Houston Chapter for an afternoon of meaningful community service in partnership with Child Advocates. We will be volunteering at Santa’s Workshop on Saturday, December 6, from 1:00–3:00 PM, supporting Child Advocates’ annual Santa’s Wish List program.
Each year, Santa’s Wish List ensures that children in the protective custody of CPS—many of whom have experienced abuse or neglect—receive holiday gifts selected just for them. Volunteers play an essential role in preparing these gifts by helping sort, organize, and wrap items so they are ready to be delivered to Child Advocates’ clients.
Volunteer Activities Will Include:
• Sorting and organizing donated gifts
• Wrapping presents and preparing gift bundles
• Assisting Child Advocates staff with workshop needs
• Contributing to a warm, festive, and supportive environment
Who Should Attend:
Texas Exes members, friends, and supporters who would like to give back during the holiday season. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to help. All volunteers must be 18 years or older.
What to Bring:
• Comfortable, casual clothing suitable for moving around (burnt orange always encouraged)
• Holiday spirit encouraged
Why It Matters:
Your support directly contributes to creating a joyful holiday experience for children facing difficult circumstances. By volunteering, you help ensure they feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
