Event description

Description

When we consider our school community, we are thinking about our students, our families, and our staff and developing ways to build community between and amongst these three stakeholders. In this workshop, we will develop an understanding of the key elements needed for successful community programming and what it entails to consider all our stakeholders in our program planning. Additionally, we will talk about the elements of building trust with families and each participant will leave having developed their own concrete action plan based on their school needs.

In this workshop we will:
- learn the fundamental building blocks used to design strong community programming
- share examples of community programs at Community Roots designed to build community with faculty, students, and families

Participants will be supported to design a community program that is responsive to their site's needs.

Workshop is open to:
school leaders, parent coordinators, teachers, program designers, graduate students
