About the hosts:
Eddie Hemphill - Eddie Hemphill is a Los Angeles-based visual storyteller whose work spans photography, film, and audio. His photography explores the emotional architecture of everyday life, capturing quiet, intimate moments rooted in architecture, portraiture, and place. A 2025 California Coast in Color Artist-in-Residence with the Black Image Center, Eddie’s recent projects include Black in the Blue, a portrait series spotlighting Black marine scientists, and A Good Life is Mostly Coming Home, a photo series exploring longing, place, and loneliness experienced through travel. His work has been exhibited around the country including the Honolulu Museum of Art.
As a filmmaker and producer, Eddie brings ambitious creative projects to life, from HBO Max documentaries and Apple Podcast-featured shows to campaigns for the ACLU and the Movement for Black Lives. Bridging the emotional precision of fine art with a commitment to storytelling, his work invites reflection, connection, and reimagination.
Jodi Kassowitz - Is a high-end mixed media photographer based in the heart of Hollywood, she is driven by a lifelong fascination with capturing the essence of the world through her lens. Largely self-taught, her journey has been one of constant exploration, each click of the shutter an opportunity for growth and refinement.
Her aspiration is to unveil the beauty hidden within the ordinary, a devotion that has led her to specialize in landscape, city, and street photography. Through her work, she strives to showcase the extraordinary in the seemingly mundane, infusing each image with a sense of wonder and appreciation for the world around us. She has show in numerous group shows around Los Angeles and had her first solo show at Gallery 612 in Santa Monica in June 2025.
