Transform community lending data into community narratives:
- Identify lending disparities
- Hold financial institutions accountable
- Drive investments where they are most needed.
No technical or data experience required.
Storytelling is the backbone of effective advocacy, and compelling stories often come from compelling data sets. A well-told narrative backed up by data can activate and empower communities, spurring a fight for systemic change in a way that raw numbers do not.
Our Community Lending Data Capacity Workshop presents an opportunity for community organizations and stakeholders to connect with each other and learn how they can connect mortgage and small business lending trends with the economic impacts they’re seeing on the ground. These stories can equip leaders with the tools to identify the racial and economic lending disparities driving inequality, shape equitable economic policies, and create thriving neighborhoods.
Participants will gain the ability to craft a narrative about the financial health of their communities that can support organizational programming, grant writing, advocacy, economic development, and lending opportunities.
LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE – Please notify in advance if you will not be able to attend. Food will be provided; please note any dietary restrictions.
About the Community Lending Data Portal:
Participants will use Woodstock Institute’s Community Lending Data Portal, which provides easy and free access to data on mortgage and small business lending that can support the efforts of nonprofit organizations and their communities to create change.
Updated annually with newly released Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Community Reinvestment Act data, this powerful tool provides in-depth, actionable insights into the financial state of communities. For the first time since starting our portal, we’re inviting community leaders and non-profit professionals to our workshop to learn how to make the most of this tool!
