Reiki is a form of energy healing and is not associated with any religion or spiritual practice, though many report having spiritual experiences during or after a session. It is a complementary therapy that can be used in conjunction with professional medical care. It is safe, has no contraindications and is often used in hospitals for pain management, hospice care, and to expedite recovery from injury or illness alongside medical care.
Hosted by Abigail Kochunas of Sacred Healing Art.
Abigail is an Artist, Reiki Practitioner and Animal Communicator offering trauma-informed energy work to people and animals, psychic readings and more. She is trained and attuned in Usui Reiki I and II, Energy Medicine, certified in Core Wound Healing, and has been working with crystal and plant healing for over 25 years. Having gone from trauma “survivor to thriver” she understands the delicate nature and importance of trauma recovery and healing at a human scale as well as the financial hardship and poverty that many survivors and those with PTSD can experience - having the wisdom of that lived-in experience.
She is passionate about her volunteer reiki work at animal sanctuaries and rescues and is focused on creating more access first opportunities for the community. She works with her human and animal clients both in-person in the Joshua Tree area and remotely all over the world.

More about Reiki:
Reiki is not associated with any religion or spiritual tradition, and does not require one to believe in it for it to work. It is a subtle and safe form of energy healing utilizing Universal Life Force Energy that was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui over 100 years ago. It is used in hospitals, hospice care, animal rescues, veterinary offices and more.
Reiki also combines well with other interventions such as medications, surgery, acupuncture, chemotherapy and even psychotherapy. Since it enhances your sense of well-being and balances your system it can strengthen the benefits received from these other interventions. As a complementary therapy, Reiki has also been used in clinical settings for symptom/pain relief of chronic conditions.
