The City of Indian Wells is offering a free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training. This 20-hour class covers disaster medical, fire safety and suppression, light search and rescue, and disaster preparedness. Enrollment is limited to the first 40 registrants.

When:

Friday, February 28th from 5:30pm-9:30pm

Saturday, February 29th from 8am-5pm

Sunday, March 1st from 8am-5pm.

Indian Wells City Hall

Important Info:

Light refreshments will be provided, dinner and lunch will NOT be provided, a lunch break will be offered. Participants are required to wear closed toe shoes, please bring sunscreen, a hat, and wear jeans/long pants, bring water, and something to take notes.

About CERT:

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.
