THE ALAMEDA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT (ACFD) offers an opportunity to parcipate in a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training academy! Participants will complete 20 hours of CERT training on Thursday evening AND Saturday, July 19 AND Sunday, July 27.
CERT training will include both classroom instruction and hands-on training. Class registration is free and open to community members who are 18 years old or older. Teenagers between 14 to 17 years old may participate in the training if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

- Emergency Preparedness
- Fire Safety & Utility Controls
- Disaster Medical Operations
- Light Search & Rescue
- Much more!
**SPACE IS LIMITED and attendance is required at all 3 classes. Individuals who RSVP and do not attend negatively impact course offerings, and take awayfrom others who would like to attend.
***All parcipants will be required to completed the online FEMA independent study CERT program, IS-317. Below is the link to the FEMA site to access the online IS-317 training course. You may first need to register to get a Student ID number (SID) unless you already have one. The link below should take you to the registration page. Please be sure to print a copy of your certificate of completion for your records, and either email it to us at CERT@acgov.org, or bring a printed copy with you to class. This needs to be completed by the last day of class, Sunday, July 27.
