Communities of Flourishing: Moving from Criticism to Action
Overview
Many of us can name what’s broken in our communities—polarization, isolation, poverty, food insecurity, injustice, and the fatigue that comes from trying to do good in challenging times.
This gathering is designed to help churches, ministries, and everyday Christians move beyond critique and into hopeful, collaborative, biblically-grounded action. Together, we will explore how the church can embody God’s love in public life in ways that are faithful, creative, and deeply rooted in Scripture.
We’ll engage real issues facing our neighborhoods: caring for immigrants and refugees, the sanctity of life, addressing hunger and food insecurity, confronting racism, sustaining soul-care while serving, stewarding creation, and resisting the pull of consumerism and greed. The day will be theologically rich with a focus on actionable practices that strengthen discipleship and community witness.
You’ll hear from nationally recognized leaders along with practitioners from across Arizona—including leaders serving in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Tucson, and other communities—who are demonstrating what faithful presence looks like in their context.
Expect to leave with renewed imagination, practical ideas, and new relationships with others committed to seeking the flourishing of our cities and neighborhoods. This is a day for anyone who wants to see the church live out the love of Christ in tangible, transformative ways.
