Step into the colorful world of Colors of Coco: A Fiesta for All Ages, a joyful and meaningful celebration of Día de Muertos 💀 designed for families and community members of all ages.

This special event is filled with opportunities to learn, create, and connect. Enjoy traditional pan dulce and hot chocolate ☕ while exploring the heart of this beautiful cultural tradition. We’ll have a variety of hands-on activities, including face painting that will bring the vibrant spirit of Día de Muertos to life—perfect for kids and adults alike!

We’re excited to welcome Elvia Guillermo, a staff member at Gallaudet University, who will share a fun and engaging presentation on the history and meaning of Día de Muertos. Her storytelling will highlight the traditions behind the celebration and why it continues to be cherished by so many today.

A highlight of the event will be our community altar (Ofrenda) 🕯️—a collective space to honor and remember loved ones who have passed. Attendees are invited to bring a copy (no originals, please) of a photo of someone they’d like to celebrate and add it to the Ofrenda.

So gather your kids, abuelos, neighbors, and friends—anyone who loves color, culture, and community—and join us for a day full of heart 💖, creativity, and shared tradition. Whether you’re here to remember, celebrate, or simply connect, you’ll leave with warm memories and a deeper appreciation for this vibrant tradition.
