Overview

Explore the uniqueness of watercolors by learning color theory, blending, and glazing

Learn how to mix colors to create vibrant and beautiful colors to bring your watercolor painting to the next level. We will work on color wheels, color matching, and how to layer your painting without everything turning muddy.

All supplies are provided, but you are encouraged to bring your personal palette if you have one. This class teaches color theory, not watercolor techniques. For a foundation in watercolors, take one of Factory 3’s two introductory classes: Landscapes in Watercolors or Sketching and Watercolors.

Please be aware of our youth policy.

About the instructor:
Audrey Parker is an art teacher who loves to teach paper craft and painting. Her artistic practice revolves around creating realistic paper flowers, as well as watercolor paintings with elements of paper sculpture, focusing primarily on nature and our connection to it. She graduated from MECA in 2021 with a Masters in Art Education, and in 2019 with a B.F.A. in Painting and a minor in Art History. Growing up in rural Maine, Audrey has a deep connection to the natural landscape around us.
