Event description

Description

Facilitated by Katie Kinnemeyer

There’s a growing energy of women coming into relationship with their own power. We can source this power from all kinds of experiences, and at this event we’ll be sharing how we can harness our rage into a force for good, on an individual level and a collective level.

It’s tempting to feel powerless about what happens to us, because we often aren’t given the space to express our disappointment, dissatisfaction, or rage in a way that leads to any meaningful change in our experience. So often we swallow that rage, or act it out in ways that only create disconnection.

Women have an inherent power to tap into that we’re not really taught how to harness. A power to learn from what our rage is telling us about ourselves, to integrate that into our ways of being in the world, and to harness that force for good generated in our hearts, rather than in our reactivity. And when we gather and share our stories, our collective power becomes a force for making the change we want to see in the world.

In this class, we’ll be sharing about our experience with rage - how we process our rage, what our rage is telling us about ourselves, and about our world. What we do with our rage can empower us to act deliberately and decisively in what we allow to happen to ourselves. Gathering with other women grows our power individually and collectively.

Katie Kinnemeyer is a facilitator that uses the possibilities within a group to inspire change. She does this by allowing space for the stories in the room to emerge and leads the group through conversations about what’s driving the beliefs or behaviors that disrupt our intentions. She believes that a group taking a collective look at the beliefs and behaviors that perpetuate suffering in the world -- their own or others -- is the starting point for creating a collective shift in our experience.

In her professional life, Katie helps clients establish a strong sense of team cohesion and fluidity during times of transition. While helping teams identify the changes in strategy, process, and structure that will support an organization’s new vision, she maintains focus on the human dynamics important to ensuring a culture shift that enables the new work requirements.

Katie is also the Volunteer Culture Director at the Hive.
