Join us online for a collaborative workshop as part of our spotlight on RegTech, Resilience & Compliance! The event will be held online from 1- 4pm on Tuesday, 14th October 2025 and will consist of invited speakers and interactive workshop sessions around the challenges financial services and their suppliers face in RegTech, Resilience & Compliance.
The goal of the workshop is to surface ideas for collaborative projects between researchers and industry, which can then be submitted to UKFin’s funding streams.
The financial services sector is subject to rigorous regulatory oversight. The rapid emergence of innovative financial technologies presents a unique challenge to regulators, such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Payment Systems Regulator, who must strike a careful balance between protecting stakeholders and enabling innovation. At the same time, novel technologies bring opportunities to support regulatory processes through the development of intelligent and powerful new tools. For example, systems that can translate regulatory texts into actionable code, or automatically generate compliance checklists, or applying AI to detecting and preventing fraud and money laundering.
This workshop will follow on from our Roundtable and Wicked Lunch, which brought together academics and industry professionals to identify opportunities for collaboration and take a deep-dive into the real-world challenges across the financial services landscape. In this workshop, these challenges and potential for solutions will be explored further, with the intent of sparking new research collaborations to bid for funding for our upcoming deadlines.
