Description
We’re interested in understanding the ways in which people work creatively and collaboratively. What does collaboration mean for any discipline – from engineering to design to games to academia? What can we learn from each other, and how? How do our digital tools and the norms of online behavior influence the ways we collaborate? How can conversation and criticism be framed to produce better work? Most importantly, what happens when we work to elevate the human connection?
On June 5th, we'll be partnering with Are.na to host a night of active discussion around these and other questions about the theory and process of collaboration.
The evening will kick off with a brief introduction from our moderator, Édouard U. Then, presenters from the worlds of design, games, software, and academia will give short lightning talks about how their work is informed and developed through collaboration. Finally, Éd will lead a group discussion to build on what we've heard.
Presenters:
- Cab Broskoski: Co-founder, Are.na
- Skyler Balbus: Lead Product Designer, Postlight
- Rachel Valinsky: Co-founder, Wendy's Subway
- Jordan Kraemer: Social Media Ethnographer
The doors open at 6:30pm, and talks will begin at 7pm. Please stay afterwards for beverages, snacks, and continued conversation.
