Event description

Description

Children and youth exposed to trauma and who experience traumatic stress are more likely to struggle with behavioral, academic and social success. Families can take steps to address the impact of trauma and help build resilience. These steps are much more effective when taken in collaboration with schools that facilitate open communication approaches. This session offers a brief overview of childhood trauma and suggests strategies for building relationships between families and schools to build skills.

While all parents and caregivers are welcome, we particularly encourage foster and adoptive parents and kinship caregivers raising children with special needs to join us for this Loudoun Connect evening session. Refreshments served! Please note child care is not available.
