Coffee with a Cop: Public Saftey in District 1
Councilor Loretta Smith hosts a monthly “Coffee with a Cop” meetings, this month will be hosted at the Historic Parkrose with Guest Speaker DA Nathan Vasquez, Multnomah County. This is an energizing opportunity for neighbors to meet with police and local leaders in a friendly setting. It’s a perfect space to share safety concerns, ideas, and solutions.
Fom neighborhood concerns to strategies for creating safer, more connected communities. Together, we’ll discuss what’s working, where we can improve, and how City partners and residents can continue to build mutual understanding and action
Goals of the Session
- Hear directly from District 1 residents and business owners about safety challenges and successes.
- Learn about ongoing efforts from the Portland Police Bureau East Precinct.
- Share ideas for improving communication, response, and neighborhood collaboration.
- Strengthen relationships between the community and law enforcement through transparency and partnership
This is part of Councilor Smith’s ongoing commitment to keep District 1’s voices at the center of city decisions and to ensure our neighborhoods have the resources and support they need to thrive.
