About this event

Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center hosts a virtual "Coffee Conversation" on select mornings that features a 30-minute interview with a survivor, co-survivor, or medical professional on a topic, followed by a time for conversation with participants.

June 25th's Coffee Conversation will feature Javacia Harris Brown. Javacia is an award-winning freelance journalist and the author of the essay collection Find Your Way Back: How to Write Your Way Through Anything -- which explores how she used writing to cope with being diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in 2020. In Birmingham, she’s best known as the founder of See Jane Write, a website and community for women who write that Javacia founded in 2011. Javacia also serves as chair of the board for Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center. When she isn’t writing, you can find Javacia eating tacos, practicing Pilates or listening to Beyoncé.

Join us for our Coffee Conversation discussing navigating the fear of breast cancer recurrence.
