During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of telemedicine soared. Payor policies were rapidly introduced and frequently changed. Now that the public health emergency is over, some payors are rescinding and modifying coverage and payment policies. This session reviews variations in coverage and coding policy matters on telehealth and remote monitoring services, along with documentation requirements for telemedicine services.

Sheila has over twenty-five years’ experience in medical reimbursement as a management consultant, technical and regulatory researcher and writer, and seminar leader. Her present and previous positions include regulatory research; facility and professional services coding and documentation auditing; reimbursement process assessment; and presenting continuing education on a wide variety of topics for physicians and administrators.


Ms. Sylvan is a certified coder (CPC and CCS-P), an approved professional medical coding curriculum (PMCC) instructor (CPC-I), and an AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Approved Trainer.
