Event description

Description

Code2040 is a nonprofit organization that creates pathways to educational, professional, and entrepreneurial success in technology for underrepresented minorities with a specific focus on Blacks and Latinx. Our goal is to ensure that by the year 2040 - the start of the decade when the US will be majority people of color - we are proportionally represented in America's innovation economy as technologists, investors, thought leaders, and entrepreneurs.

Networking is essential to navigating today’s tech job market, especially since 60-80% of jobs are gained through personal relationships! How do people get these relationships? What do they say and do to build bonds with their network contacts? How do they nurture these relationships so that they can be productive? The skill of networking requires time, practice and an understanding of networking etiquette. This session is an introduction to some of the skills required to successfully cultivate and take action with one’s network.
