Can I take my candles home with me at the end of class?

We do not require you come to pick up your candle at a later date as your candles will be fully dried at the end of class.

How long does it take for my candle to dry?

Your candle will take 10-20 minutes to dry depending on the amount of wax required per vessel. Our vessels are thrifted so each candle may dry at different times. It's best to wait 24-48 hours for the candle to cure before burning.

Join us and make TWO of your very own cocktail candles!

Participants will learn how to make our hyperrealistic cocktail candles! All participants will leave at the end of class with TWO FULLY DRIED CANDLES, ready to take home! No need to pick up at a later date! Some scent options include Paloma, margarita, lemon drop martini, espresso martini, berries and champagne, pina colada, and more! And participants will also be able to decorate their candles with mold shapes of varying fruits, and garnishes to complete the look!

Our instructors will walk you through the process of picking your own vessels, scent, and colors! You’ll then be able to pour your wax and pick your decoration pieces while we wait for your candles to dry enough to decorate. After the decoration process is complete, we will seal your designs with a final layer of wax and you’re ready to take your candle home!

Our Mission

Hello! We are Pup Country Candles- an artisanal candle company with purpose. At Pup Country Candles we breathe new life into discarded materials by using recycled wax and wicks from events here in Charleston, South Carolina- one of the largest wedding destinations in the world. In teaming up with local vendors, we are able to repurpose these discarded materials, thereby reducing waste in our community. In addition to her love of candle making and reimagining materials, Pup Country Candles founder, Amanda Pena, also boasts a love for dogs and dog training. With a master’s in education and certifications in animal behavior, Pena has been training dogs for over 10 years. As a behavioral consult Pena has seen firsthand the need for resources and equipment in her community- particularly in a post-pandemic society in which many dogs have gone without the proper socialization needed for a healthy lifestyle. It is our mission to use the proceeds of Pup Country Candles to help families in need
