BIO

Thomas DeFelice is an information security professional with over 25 years of information technology and
information security experience. In his current role as senior advisor cyber digital team at Optiv, he works with
clients as a senior advisor helping to assess, develop, guide and improve cloud, big data & analytics,
Orchestration& Automation and product security while ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
DeFelice is a seasoned professional with a robust history of delivering services across diverse vertical markets
including healthcare, finance, technology, government and retail. He has designed and overseen the
implementation of many security initiatives providing his subject matter expertise in the areas
of risk management, policy development, program development, security awareness, cloud security, incident
response, network security, Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) and vulnerability management successfully
balancing both business and security requirements.
Prior to joining Optiv, DeFelice served as vice president client director for Pactera, a multinational corporation with offices throughout North America, the EU and APAC. There, he developed and delivered programmatic based security offerings to global clients. DeFelice has held numerous senior security leadership, consultant and architect roles at Computershare, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Principal Security Group, Greenwich Technology Partners, Siemens and CTG.
DeFelice has spoken publicly and published several industry articles on a number of security topics and was a
contributing author for two texts including “Security Architecture: Design, Deployment & Operations,” Osborne
McGraw-Hill & RSA Press and “The Complete Guide to Firewalls,” Osborne McGraw-Hill. DeFelice is a Certified
Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and earned a degree in electrical engineering from Hesser
College.
