Join us for the closing reception of Legendary Looks and delve into the extraordinary tradition and artistry of effects design in the House Ballroom Community. The evening will feature refreshments and small bites, and a meet and great with curators and exhibiting artists.

Presented by NYC Center for Black Pride and ArtsWestchester as part of the 28th Annual NYC Black Pride.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

This groundbreaking exhibition features more than 30 unforgettable looks created by some of ballroom’s top designers, stylists and walkers, including Icon Overall Mother DeDee Lanvin, Icon Founding Mother Miss Shalae Basquiat, Legendary Cameo Cameo, Legendary Giovanni, DMV Father Drake Garçon, Founder Icon Freddie Elixir, and many others. The exhibition is curated by Icon International Mother Twiggy Pucci Garçon, Legendary NYC Mother Jonovia Chase Lanvin, and Icon Ballroom Hall of Famer Founder Michael Roberson Maison-Margiela, with exhibition text written by Fatima Jamal and Mikelle Street.

LEGENDARY LOOKS: The Arts of Effects Design in House Ballroom is one of a three-part exhibition series co-organized by ArtsWestchester, City Lore and Pioneer Works that centers the rich heritage and traditions of House Ballroom.

PARKING is conveniently located at The City Center parking garage with entrances on Main Street and Martine Avenue. Valet parking is also available at City Center garage(5pm-10pm) at the Mamaroneck Avenue entrance for a fee of $10.

Is there bus service to White Plains?

Is there train service to White Plains?

Yes. The MTA Metro-North Railroad (Harlem line) provides frequent local and express trains to and from White Plains. The White Plains railroad station is located downtown and only a 10 to 15 minute walk to ArtsWestchester.

White Plains is located at the intersection of major highways, including I-95 and I-287.

Where do I park?

The City Center Parking Garage is conveniently located just behind ArtsWestchester. The entrances to the garage on Main Street and Martine Avenue. All parking in White Plains whether street or garage is metered. Street parking is very limited. Parking options: wpbid.com/parking
