Overview

We’re climbing Errigal in memory of Carl Henderson: It's a day to remember, connect & raise funds for a lifesaving all weather defibrillator

https://www.idonate.ie/crowdfunder/ClimbForCarl

On Saturday 26th of April Carl was hiking on Errigal when he suffered a medical event and despite the best efforts of the emergency services sadly he lost his life.

It took over 50 minutes for a land ambulance to reach him on the mountain path and the closest defibrillator was located approximately the same amount of time away.

In memory of his life, the family and friends of Carl Henderson are planning a sponsored walk up Errigal on Sunday 26th of October, starting at 11.30 at Errigal CarPark to raise funds to place a defibrillator around the mid point of the mountain.

By doing this, we hope that another family won't have to go through the pain of losing a loved one.

To donate please follow the link below:

All money raised from this walk will go towards installing and maintaining an AED, with any additional funds donated to the Donegal Mountain Rescue for their efforts to help Carl on the day.

ClimbForCarl

We will commence our accent of Errigal in small staggered groups to allow plenty of space on the path for everyone. At the half way point we will stop for a one minute silence to remember Carl Henderson, a beloved Husband & Father and a good friend to many people. The walk will continue from there. We ask again that people leave this area in a staggerd fashion to allow plenty of space between each smaller group, especially at this stage of the Climb and in particular as we reach the summit where space is more restricted.
