Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess
Overview
Anyone who has ever tried to shovel snow while it is still falling, or dig out a car from the ditch while the wheels are still spinning in mud, or deep clean a small house with five or six small children within knows what it is to attempt a futile task. Far too often, in spite of the overwhelming wealth of knowledge about wise living, good habits, and mental health supports, men and women more often feel and operate as though they possess that knowledge in vain.
Mental and physical health concerns are no longer outpaced by longer and happier lives--since 2011, people in Western countries have shorter and more unhappy and unhealthy life expectancies than the generations before them. Why the paradox? Why are there so many resources, and so little tangible application?
For over forty years, Dr. Caroline Leaf has applied her studies as a Communications Pathologist and Cognitive Neuroscientist to help people break through old ruts and dead-end neural pathways to think the healthy thoughts and form the beneficial habits that change behavior and significantly increase quality of life. Her book, Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess is full of sound science and practical practices to help you change both your thoughts and your actions for good.
