Learn the role of a children’s attorney and receive an overview of the court proceedings and processes involved in dependency cases.

About this event

Nevada-licensed or emeritus-certified attorneys can earn 2.0 general Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits from this free, online seminar about representing children in foster care.

You will learn the role of a children’s attorney and receive an overview of the court proceedings and processes involved in dependency cases. You will obtain guidance on building an effective client relationship, learn about permanency planning, be able to counsel older clients on options for “aging out” of foster care, and so much more related to children in our foster system.

All attorneys must take one new pro bono case or volunteer for at least two two-hour sessions of an Ask-A-Lawyer program to receive CLE credit. Select a case at www.lacsnprobono.org. Please sign up here or email cgeorgas@lacsn.org to volunteer for one of our weekly Ask-A-Lawyer events. Our Ask-A-Lawyer consultations are currently via phone.

For information about other upcoming CLEs offered by Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, please visit www.lacsn.org/cle.
