Description
Learn.
This first session will be an introduction to Clayton Fresh, Gracy, and the MyPlate system. Through interactive and engaging activities, students will explore types of healthy behaviors. Included is a discussion about the importance of physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Clayton Fresh’s mobile market works to address poor eating habits and inactivity in youth and families. The Gracy Series is an in-school, comprehensive program for 4th-grade classrooms, “Learn. Eat. Grow.” Students will enjoy three sessions throughout the school year that will introduce the MyPlate foundation and beyond.
Through a mix of lecture, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and experiments, students will learn about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
The culminating event will be Pizza Farm, a free field trip where youth will rotate through stations representing the various parts of a pizza. The rotations will highlight several important parts of Georgia agriculture, including, dairy, wheat, and vegetables.
This outreach is free to Clayton County Public Schools.
