Jump into the world of improv with this fun and supportive introductory class! You'll learn the core principles of long-form, scene-based comedy while building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills. Our instructors will help you silence your inner critic so you can think on your feet, embrace the unexpected, and most importantly HAVE FUN!

Whether you're looking to perform, sharpen your public speaking, step outside your comfort zone, or just meet great people, this class is for you. No experience necessary—just bring an open mind and a willingness to play!

All active Station Theater students receive free admission to Friday & Saturday regular shows, pending ticket availability at showtime.

Class Topics Include:

• Improv navigation systems "Yes, and…" and "If This, Then What?"
• Being in the moment
• Active listening
• Getting out of your head
• Supporting your scene partner
• Using emotions to heighten scenes
• Creating & interacting with your environment
• Using your body and voice to create memorable characters

IMPORTANT DATES
Class dates may be adjusted based on weather cancellations or other unforeseen circumstances.

• FLEX Date: 2/24/2026 (Weather make-up date, if needed)
• Student Showcase: Saturday, 3/7/2026 - 5:30 PM (Tentative)

All students must adhere to the policies outlined in the Station Theater Handbook & Code of Conduct and Performers Bill of Rights. Additionally, a signed General Liability Form must be on file before the end of the first class session.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

• Located at 2000 Nance in Houston’s vibrant 5th Ward Cultural Arts District
• Just north of Downtown Houston and south of I-10, with easy access from all major highways

BUILDING ACCESS

• The main entrance is at the BACK of the building in the gated parking lot.
• Your instructor will be at the door to welcome you.

PARKING

• Parking lot entrance is located BEHIND the building.
• From Nance, turn onto Semmes Street, then take the first right to drive behind the building. The parking lot entrance will be on your right.
• This is a GATED lot. The gate will not always be open during your class. Please use the gate code provided in your welcome email.
• To exit, pull forward slowly toward the gate to activate the sensor and leave plenty of space in front of your vehicle, as the gate opens very wide.

REFUNDS & TICKET TRANSFERS
We DO NOT offer refunds for shows, workshops, or classes. With advance notice, we may be able to transfer your ticket to a different date. Email info@stationtheater.com as soon as possible.

CAN I BRING A GUEST TO CLASS?
We do not allow guests in our classes.

IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT FOR CLASSES?
Students must be 18 years or older.

CAN I BUY TICKETS AT THE DOOR?
Online ticket sales close 1 hour before the class starts. We do not offer sales at the door for classes.
