Clams, Kelp & Comebacks: Inside the Work of Restoring Life Underwater

On August 13, dive into an inspiring evening with marine biologist Capt. Nancy Caruso, founder of Get Inspired!, a local nonprofit dedicated to restoring Orange County’s underwater ecosystems. Over the last two decades, Nancy has led groundbreaking projects to bring back kelp forests, green abalone, white seabass, and pismo clams—with help from over 13,000 students and 1,500 trained volunteers.

Recognized as one of Orange County’s most influential people, Nancy combines science, education, and community action to heal our coast. She lives in Garden Grove with her husband Tom, a nature photographer, and brings contagious enthusiasm for ocean conservation wherever she goes. Come learn how local efforts are making waves in global ocean restoration—and how you can help.

Local favorites, Hans and Janine, will perform during the hosted reception.
