CivicsLab Part 3 - Relationship Building with Legislators and Policymakers

Come join us for an exciting event at the Downtown Bend Library where we will dive into the art of building relationships with legislators and policymakers. Hear directly from people like Representative Emerson Levy and Mayor Melanie Kebler about how they work with constituents when crafting policies and legislation. Civics Lab 3 is designed to build authentic relationships between community members and local legislators, fostering mutual understanding and trust. By connecting residents directly with policymakers, this lab empowers individuals to take an active, informed role in shaping legislation that impacts their lives. Our goal is to demystify the legislative process, encourage ongoing civic engagement, and support a culture where community voices drive equitable change. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with key decision-makers and make your voice heard!

Following the panel, we will be holding a Community Connections networking event where you can directly engage with organizations and groups that use activism, advocacy and influence to affect change. You can learn their method of civic engagement and how you can join them or amplify their work. Some of the groups participating will be Bend YIMBY, Latino Community Association, the City of Bend, and more!
