Workshop theme: Current challenges and future directions in control and automation.

CITRIS People and Robots (CPAR) Control Theory and Automation Symposium will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018, 10 am - 5 pm at UC Santa Cruz. This symposium will kick off the 1st NorCal Control Workshop, an annual event providing a forum to bring together undergrad, grad students, postdocs and faculty from various universities, as well as representatives from industry, in the Northern California region working in the broad area of systems and control to share knowledge and build new connections.

This inaugural event is organized by CITRIS/CPAR at UC Santa Cruz and focuses on a timely theme to the field of systems and control. A goal of the workshop is to spark discussions leading to answers to the following questions: What are the key challenges in the development of control and automation solutions to the complex problems of today? What are unique future opportunities and problems where control and automation would play a key role? The event features two keynote talks, a panel with systems and control experts from academia and industry on current challenges and future directions, as well as a poster and networking session.

Parking passes:

Two parking attendants will be on hand right at the Core West parking structure from 8:30AM - 10:30AM [link: https://maps.ucsc.edu/content/directions-core-west-parking-structure] to sell parking permits to symposium attendees. Simply, follow the directional signage (which will be placed at the entrances of UCSC campus), directly to the parking structure. Parking permits cost $9.00. Please ensure that you have cash or a check available to pay the attendants, as they are not able to accept payment by credit card.

If you arrive after 10:30 AM, but before 1:00 PM you can purchase your permit at the Main Entrance Kiosk [link: http://maps.ucsc.edu/content/main-entrance-kiosk]. After 1 pm you will need to purchase permits from the TAPS Main Office [link: https://taps.ucsc.edu/parking/parking-permits/index.html].

Visitor parking passes are available at the Main Entrance Information Kiosk between 7am-1pm or the TAPS Parking Sales Office from 1-5pm

UC campus parking pass holders should also check at the kiosk or visit the campus website for UC Parking Reciprocity

What's the refund policy?

Due to the limited number of tickets available to our events we apply the following cancellation and refund policy:

  • Requests for refunds received more than fourteen (14) working days prior to the date of the event will receive a full refund
  • Requests for refunds received within fourteen (14) working days of the event date, refund will not be given

If, for any reason, CITRIS and the Banatao Institute has to cancel an event we will notify you by email if you have provided that information upon registration and will refund your ticket in full.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You can bring your printed ticket or present the code from your mobile device in order to check in.
