Come on time. If you arrive later than 7:10, you will not be able to participate. Join us for a transformative 2.5-hour journey into authentic connection and present moment awareness through the practice of Circling. This isn't a typical conversation; it's a space to move beyond surface-level interactions and tap into the reality of what's happening between us, right now.

Guided by Nathan, you'll learn to notice the subtle shifts within yourself as you connect with others, to share your inner world with responsibility and genuine invitation, and to cultivate a comfortable presence in social settings. This is for anyone looking to improve their communication skills, cultivate depth in relationships, and safely navigate their own limiting beliefs.

What to Expect:
We'll begin with introductions, sharing our present state and intentions for the evening. Then, we experience a dynamic "flow circle" where we collectively explore the group's unfolding dynamics. We'll conclude by reflecting on our experience and the insights gained.

Important Note: Doors will close promptly at 7:10 PM to maintain a focused and undisturbed space. Please arrive a few minutes early to settle in. I recommend bringing water since East West Bookshop doesn't have a water fountain.

Group rules:

  • Honesty and transparency is encouraged.
  • Social/professional norms put to the side.
  • Phones on silent and put away, unless it’s a must.
  • Honor the co-created safe space for vulnerability.

Who this is NOT for:

  • People who are unwilling to get out of their comfort zone socially.
  • People content with life as it is, and uninterested in transformation.
  • People who don't feel like they have to put up masks or wear armor in day-to-day life.
  • People who believe they have mastered life.
  • People who are unwilling to change their views on themselves.

Be aware:
Circling is an invitation to practice radical honesty in a supportive environment. While we strive for mindful and compassionate communication, you will likely encounter perspectives that challenge you. Sometimes, this practice calls for vulnerability and shadow-work. If the prospect of being challenged or triggered feels unsettling, please consider if this space is the right fit for you at this time.

Bio: Nathan, the facilitator, is a life coach, meditation teacher, and is currently pursuing his MS in Psychology. Growing up in silicon valley, he always felt a bit out of place in what he feels is a highly left-brained, individualistic, and socially disconnected culture. He now leads two popular meetup groups in the area: Authentic Relating Peninsula, and Peninsula Neurodivergent Adults Meetup, with the intention of bringing more genuine human connection to silicon valley.
