We have secured a great line-up for the event which will include Gifford Pinchot III, the author who coined the term "intrapreneur" with his 1978 Economist Article, and two NYC-based social intrapreneurs: Emily Fry, an Assistant Vice President of Social Innovation at Barclays, and Joe Agoada, who has been a social intrapreneur at MIT and UNICEF.
We're excited to announce that McKinsey & Company's New Ventures team is sponsoring this event! Food and drinks will be provided.
-------
Maybe you’ve heard of entrepreneurs, but what exactly is an intrapreneur? Entrepreneurs work on their own, outside of an existing firm, to build new businesses. Intrapreneurs work within existing business structures to enact change. An intrapreneurial idea is not for a new company, but instead for a new way of doing business within an existing organization. The Circle of Young Intrapreneurs in NYC wants to see how intrapreneurship can be a force for good.
The launch event will begin with an introduction to the Circle from the NYC lead, followed by a session on essential intrapreneurial skills featuring two NYC-based social intrapreneurs. The event will culminate with a keynote speech from Gifford Pinchot III - the man who coined the term intrapreneur in his 1978 Economist article. At the conclusion of the event we will have time for networking and announce future opportunities to join the Circle in doing good and doing well in the Big Apple.
The Circle of Young Intrapreneurs is a global movement that started in 2015 and has membership groups in over 10 cities around the world. Already this year, new chapters have launched in Dublin, Singapore and Washington D.C. The COYI NYC launch event is meant for professionals looking for insights and strategies for bringing more impact from their careers and corporations.
Please note that sign-up to this event does not guarantee admission. Seats are limited and applicants will be confirmed on a rolling basis.
