Circle of Security Parenting Group

(In-person)

For parents of children ages 0 to 5.

You'll learn how to:

  • Read and respond to your child's emotional needs.
  • Support your child in managing emotions effectively.
  • Encourage the development of healthy self-esteem.
  • Trust your own instincts to create a secure, supportive environment.

Based on decades of research, this program-facilitated by Ruth Talavera, Certified Family Peer Advocate-helps strengthen parent-child relationships by offering practical tools to support emotional connection and security.

Dates: Mondays, 5/05/25 to 7/07/25

Time: 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Event leaders:

NYC DOHMH Family Wellness Suite: A safe, welcoming, and supportive space for birthing individuals and their families to connect with community resources and city agency services for support.

Neighborhood Health Action Centers: The New York City Department of Health's Neighborhood Health Action Centers in Brownsville, East Harlem, and Tremont offer a variety of resources and programs to address residents' health needs. These neighborhood resources bring together healthcare providers, New York City agencies, and community organizations and programs under one roof. The Action Centers streamline connections to programs and services by providing a one-stop shop for community residents. They also provide community groups with a space for community organizing and planning.
