About this event

Music • Classical

In a joyful collision of classical virtuosity and creative reuse, Cincinnati Sandbox features Sandbox Percussion and violinist Kristin Lee in a dynamic program of new music and collaborative experimentation. The centerpiece of the concert is a newly commissioned work by Vivian Fung for percussion quartet (performing on recycled materials) and solo violin, alongside a new composition by the legendary Joan Tower. R

ounding out the program, concertnova musicians will perform on instruments built from salvaged materials, created in partnership with community members and local reuse-focused organizations. The project explores the sonic and sculptural possibilities of wood, metal, glass, and found objects, bridging professional artistry with public imagination. Collaborators include Wave Pool, Indigo Hippo, and the Heavy Metal Marching Band.
