Envelop amplifies the connective power of music through immersive sound. The nonprofit’s venues, with 32 speakers enveloping the audience, takes listening to the next level. Envelop’s free and open source spatial audio tools, Envelop for Live, allow artists to produce and compose music in three-dimensional space, the future of music production.

Envelop partners with MUTEK.SF for these intimate immersive audio performances! Limited capacity. This is the first of three consecutve showcases in partnership with MUTEK.SF.

Christopher Willits
Christopher Willits is an artist, musician, and guitarist who creates immersive ambient music. As one of the core artists on the Ghostly International label roster since the early 2000's, Willits has continually evolved his craft, producing one of the most diverse and prolific catalogs within contemporary ambient music. Releases span solo albums and gregarious collaborations, two albums with Ryuichi Sakamoto, productions with Tycho, and a Grammy nomination ("In Love and Longing” with Silvia Nakkach and David Darling). Willits is also the director and co-founder of the nonprofit, Envelop; leading a mission to amplify the connective power of music through immersive audio venues and spatial audio production tools. His process is an expression of love, inspired by an international audience of listeners, and the conviction that music can catalyze personal transformation and spiritual awakening.

Christina Chatfield
Christina Chatfield is a San Francisco based producer, live performer, and resident artist for As You Like It. Although she may be most known for her house and techno live sets, she recently debuted her downtempo work, and was invited to perform at the inaugural MUTEK SF festival in 2018. She is pleased to present her ambient & downtempo live set within the immersive audio venue of Envelop SF, featuring selections from her upcoming album on Mysteries of the Deep.

Mark Slee
Hailing from San Francisco, Mark Slee is known to wear many creative hats. But two of his all-time favorite fashions are that of DJ and producer. Since co-founding House-Heads in 2008, a collective combining forward-thinking music with a quirky underground vibe, he has gone on to join the Listed Bookings roster and host the monthly mix show Heron Sound on Proton Radio. Most recently he has formed Manjumasi Music, a label collaboration with long-time partner in crime Atish. Over the course of an obsession with dance music now more than 15 years strong, Slee has evolved a style of deep house that reflects a unique personality, balancing intricate grooves, dreamy textures, and playful whimsical bounce. Blending his technical side with intuition and introspection, he takes an approach that tickles both mind and soul.

Envelop SF is within The Midway at 900 Marin St, SF CA.
Enter from the Michigan St side of the building, through the patio. Doors close 15 minutes after start time.
