Chris Walley and Sara Joyce-CRAFT
Overview
An interactive 3-hour workshop for theatre makers of all disciplines
Limited to 30 participants
What really happens between an actor and a director when the work begins?
In this lively and practical masterclass, award-winning actor Chris Walley (The Young Offenders, Bodkin, Juno & The Paycock) and acclaimed director Sara Joyce (The Last Return, Boy Parts, The Beacon) invite you to explore the collaborative heartbeat of theatre-making.
Chris and Sara will take you inside the audition process from both sides of the table, before moving into the rehearsal room to bring a scene to life. You’ll witness their methods in real time — and be invited to step in, ask questions, and test ideas.
At the core of this workshop is collaboration. You’ll experience the push and pull of two creative perspectives working toward a shared goal — the actor searching for truth, the director shaping the story.
The session ends with a generous open Q&A, where Chris and Sara share insights into their craft, careers, and the realities of working in theatre today.
