The Chittara art form, practiced by the Deevaru women of Karnataka, is a living tradition that fills everyday life with rhythm, beauty, and meaning. Painted with red earth and white rice paste, each pattern celebrates harmony with nature and community.

In this workshop with CFRIA, learn to draw traditional Chittara motifs, uncover their symbolism, explore the world of the Deevaru women, and create your own artwork to take home.
